iPhone Alternative
Not sure about buying an iPhone…closed source, and expensive? Enter OpenMoko. OpenMoko is an Open Source project to create the world’s first free mobile phone operating system, and so far it looks impressive. With Wifi, GPS, and Multi-Touch screen it looks like a great alternative to an iPhone. Starting on July 9th you can get one, and it isn’t tied to any specific carrier. Two versions will be available…a standard version and a developer version at $300 and $400 respectively. The Devel version comes with a PCB debugging board, cables, and a Guitar pic and Torx screwdriver (to open the case). How cool is that?

I’m leaning towards the HTC P4300 as an upgrade to my AT&T 8125:

An open source phone though sounds promising.
